When we were in Hawaii, we learned about the minihuines that came out at night to paint the eucalyptus trees all different colors. I think there are spiritual minihuines that like to put things in my Bible just to mess with my head.
Psalm 78:23 says (God) Had rained down manna on them to eat, and given them the bread of heaven. Men ate angels’ food. He sent them food to the full.
How many times have I read this Psalm and not seen the part about men eating angel’s food! I may be missing the point here but Lord, how many times do You meet me and provide for me out of Your good treasures and I completely miss it because it’s not what I pictured. And then I go right back to complaining. I’d never have made it out of that desert alive!.
I guess, first off, I didn’t think angels ate anything. But it says right here they have their own special food and God is giving it to these ungrateful people that He has chosen and set apart to be His own. He has shown them miracle after miracle and they still complain. I used to wonder how they could be so dense until I realized I do the same thing. How many times in this Psalm does it say, “They did not remember.”?
Oh Lord how many times have I not remembered? How many times have I not even noticed? And how many times have I not thanked You for Your provision? Forgive me Abba! Change my heart O Lord, make it ever new. Change my heart O Lord, I want to be like You.
